Safeguard the organization’s resources through the implementation of security protocols, inventory recovery efforts, and programs aimed at minimizing theft both internally and externally.

Assist in mitigating inventory loss, time wastage, and asset misappropriation, oversee surveillance systems, and collaborate with the district loss prevention (LP) manager to execute and monitor LP strategies.

Identify, observe, and detain shoplifters and other individuals engaged in criminal activities that affect the organization. Uphold the company’s core principles of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct undercover surveillance to identify internal and external theft within a retail environment.
  • Carry out investigations and document findings for relevant stakeholders; detain individuals involved in unlawful activities.
  • Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures while performing duties.
  • Perform physical security assessments; recommend measures to prevent loss and enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and prepare documentation for criminal prosecution.
  • Identify and address conditions or behaviors that impact shrinkage, safety, and profitability by auditing compliance and promoting LP awareness.
  • Act as a liaison within the district and division to identify and implement solutions to reduce waste.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on all LP-related activities.
  • Support the district loss prevention manager (LPM) in executing LP initiatives.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of LP strategies at the store level.
  • Assist the district LPM with both external and internal investigations.
  • Provide testimony in court and labor hearings on behalf of the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Test the functionality of store LP equipment (EAS, Lane Hawk, CCTV, etc.) during store visits.
  • Travel to various locations within the division and maintain flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends.
  • Must be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven ability to maintain integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Exceptional customer service capabilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to de-escalate confrontational situations.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience in multi-store loss prevention.
  • At least 1 year of experience in retail loss prevention.
  • Operational knowledge of CCTV systems.
