American Family Care Southampton is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Patient Care: Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
- Administrative Tasks: Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance accurately and timely, and check patients out.
- Medical Procedures: Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure, draw blood, and perform laboratory tests.
- Communication: Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients, respond to all lab messages and call back requests, and conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis.
- High School graduate or equivalent, Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain complete and accurate documentation, and provide excellent customer service.
