Pharmacy Technician

As a Pharmacy Technician at Stony Brook Medicine, you will play a vital role in assisting Pharmacists with all aspects of medication preparation and distribution. This includes delivering medication to the floors, filling stock orders, and refilling Pyxis machines. You will also be responsible for answering phones and performing unit area inspections. Additionally, you will put away daily medication orders from wholesalers.
Requirements
• High School Diploma
• Current valid NY State Registered Pharmacy Technician license and registration
• Current valid Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Pharmacy Technician certification
Preferred Qualifications
• Computer knowledge and good customer service skills
• Hospital Pharmacy experience
• Ability to work independently on specific pharmacy tasks
• Knowledge of refilling automated dispensing machines and Pyxis experience

• Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services
• Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references
• Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen
• Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings
• Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s)
