We are seeking a compassionate and skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team. This role is available for Part-Time and/or Per Diem schedules. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MRI scans on patients while ensuring a high level of care and professionalism.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe MRI Imaging Specialist will perform the following duties:
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and verify that the scheduled exams align with the orders from referring physicians.
- Assist with patient check-in procedures as necessary.
- Confirm patient identity prior to commencing the scheduled MRI examination.
- Conduct a thorough verbal assessment of the patient using a provided questionnaire to determine their eligibility for the MRI procedure.
- Follow established MRI protocols and promptly communicate any equipment issues to the Chief Technologist.
- Ensure the quality of MRI images and upload all images to the PACS system upon completion of the study.
- Merge images on PACS for studies conducted as a Split (two modalities).
- Mark exams as "Completed" in the Scheduling System.
- Verify that all images are uploaded to PACS before the end of the shift and relay this information to the Chief Technologist.
- Travel as required during scheduled work hours.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Immediate Manager or Chief Technologist.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, including:
- Displaying courtesy and sensitivity in all interactions.
- Effectively managing challenging or emotional situations with patients.
- Responding promptly to patient needs and soliciting feedback to enhance service quality.
Strong communication abilities are essential, including:
- Active listening and comprehension.
- Clear expression of ideas in both written and verbal formats.
- Keeping colleagues informed and utilizing appropriate communication methods.
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED; an Associate's Degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Radiology or Imaging.
- Completion of 1000 hours of on-site training under a certified ARMRIT technologist.
- Current ARMRIT or ARRT certification, along with Venipuncture Certification and BLS.
Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred, with the ability to:
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effectively communicate in group settings.
The candidate should possess strong analytical skills to:
- Assess situations and gather relevant information.
- Identify key issues that require attention.
The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing work conditions is essential.
