Mental Health Practitioner Job Description

RADIAS Health is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our Crisis Stabilization program. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide recovery-oriented, evidence-based treatment and rehabilitative services to adults struggling with acute symptoms of mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct service to clients, including teaching independent living skills, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Assist Therapists in developing treatment plans and providing staff coverage to ensure the security of the facility and general supervision of residents.
  • Complete all paperwork, reports, and charting contemporaneously and in an organized manner.
  • Co-facilitate or facilitate psychoeducational groups or other programming at the facility.
  • Administer medications under the supervision of the facility's nurse, upon successful completion of required medication training.
  • Conduct monthly house meetings for residents in collaboration with Certified Peer Specialist.
  • Assist in the orientation of new admissions to residential care.
  • Identify individuals prone to having behavior emergencies and assist the therapist in developing additional programming appropriate for their needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work, plus 2,000 hours of work experience providing services to adults diagnosed with a serious mental illness.
  • OR, no college degree and 4,000 hours of supervised work experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness.
