About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Finance Manager to join our team at Phoenix Defense LLC. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in shaping our financial framework and driving the fiscal health and success of our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a team of Financial Analysts to lead revenue and expense projections, craft precise cost structures, and define revenue recognition methods for projects.
  • Develop and refine financial models to enhance the financial performance of programs.
  • Support the forecasting process and contribute to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Conduct contract analyses to ensure revenue recognition complies with GAAP standards.
  • Provide detailed financial reports on current program statuses.
  • Prepare and assist in the pricing proposals development.
  • Evaluate potential contracting opportunities, assessing risks and opportunities.
  • Enhance productivity through the development of automated accounting applications and coordinating necessary information requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior management on long-term financial planning.
  • Analyze variances between expected and actual financial results to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Engage in comprehensive budgeting processes for both projects and contract deliverables.
  • Ensure data accuracy in cost accounting transactions.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analyses and undertake special projects as needed.
  • Monitor subcontractor expenditure tracking, program Billing/ Accounts Payable accuracy.
  • Conduct routine financial reviews with program management to monitor and discuss financial metrics, variances from the Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly Forecasts and support the preparation of executive presentations for Program Management Reviews.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in senior finance roles.
  • Proficiency in financial and accounting software.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences including senior business leaders.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including sophisticated spreadsheet capabilities and formula usage.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile and collaborative work environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a keen interest in probing into data ('Why?', 'What if?', 'How?').
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field required, Master's degree highly preferred.
  • Years of experience in financial roles, analysis, strategic planning, pricing, forecasting, and accounting of revenues, expenses, capital, and staffing.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience in government contracting is required.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint/Time and Expense is advantageous.
  • Strong working knowledge of FARs/DFARs, CAS, and GAAP standards.
  • Working knowledge of CBA and SCA contract requirements.
  • Financial certifications are a plus.
