Cybersecurity Expert for Government Clients

At Avint LLC, we're seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to safeguard our systems and provide expertise to government clients in Northern VA or New York.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve Authorization To Operate (ATO) for Palantir software across multiple government customers with minimal oversight.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, policy expertise, and high-quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret security requirements and plan effective control implementations.
  • Translate complex concepts and architectures into clear evidence artifacts, including System Security Plans (SSP) and architecture diagrams.
  • Represent Palantir and provide credible cybersecurity expertise in government assessments and audits.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience with information security fundamentals and core technologies (e.g., authentication, encryption, firewalls, vulnerability scanning, SIEM/SOAR, audit logs).
  • Proficiency in interpreting and communicating government policy to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to multitask under pressure, using time management and organizational skills.
  • A meticulous attention to detail and demonstrated ability to operate creatively within rigid government processes.
  • Proven experience with cybersecurity in a US Government context.

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in management, computer science, information systems, or a related field.

Clearance:

  • TS or TS/SCI

Travel:

  • Travel as needed to customer sites. Ability to travel 25% preferred, but requirements vary by location.

Certifications:

  • Preferred: Advanced certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).

Leadership and Communication:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading diverse teams, including remote or geographically dispersed teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of developing solutions and making sound decisions under pressure.
