Electrical Systems Specialist

The Electrical Systems Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate, efficient, and safe installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. This role requires extensive knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, lighting, and control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical drawings to determine wiring layouts and project specifications.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshooting and Repair:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, identifying the root cause of problems and determining the best course of action for repairs.
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, fixtures, and other electrical components.
- Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper operation after repairs or installations.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the work environment, ensuring a safe workspace for all employees.
- Project Management:
- Assist in planning and coordinating electrical projects, including estimating materials, labor, and time requirements.
- Collaborate with other trades and contractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other building components.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time logs, material usage, and progress reports.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Offer expert advice and recommendations on electrical systems and energy-efficient solutions.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by completing work on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
- Training and Mentorship:
- Provide guidance and training to apprentices and less experienced electricians, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and changes in electrical codes and regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain journeyman certification.
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification as required by local or state regulations.
- Minimum of [5] years of experience as a licensed electrician.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in using electrical tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoors.
