Position Overview:
The Senior Audit Specialist is tasked with executing comprehensive evaluations of internal controls and banking operations. This role involves conducting assessments related to compliance and overseeing the contributions of junior auditors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the planning and scope definition of audits, ensuring thorough testing procedures are performed.
  • Prepare detailed reports that align with departmental standards, highlighting any identified risks and exceptions.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of professional auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and advancements in IT/Cybersecurity.
  • Evaluate regulatory and technological processes to determine business risks and the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Participate in the identification and assessment of risks associated with financial reporting and compliance.
  • Independently conduct audits of varying complexity, consistently meeting departmental objectives regarding quality and timeliness.
  • Assist in the strategic planning of audits and review bank operations to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Produce comprehensive work papers that substantiate audit findings and adhere to departmental guidelines.
  • Communicate audit progress and any issues affecting timelines or scope to management promptly.
  • Collaborate with various business units to provide constructive recommendations for addressing identified issues.
  • Foster positive relationships with external auditors and regulatory examiners.
  • Effectively convey audit results to management through both verbal and written communication.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. Professional certifications such as CISA, CPA, CIA, CAMS, or CRCM are preferred, with consideration given to those in the process of obtaining certification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, along with strong communication skills at all organizational levels. The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work independently or as part of a team is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational skills and a commitment to completing assignments in a timely manner.
