Job Opportunity

MD Counseling Services LLC is seeking a part-time evenings Addiction Counselor for Adult and Youth for their intensive outpatient treatment program. Bilingual is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide group counseling sessions with a focus on addiction-related topics.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, as identified by program requirements and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Complete required evaluations and assessments, including screening, intake, clinical assessments, ASAM, and biopsychosocial histories.
  • Develop individual treatment plans upon client admission.
  • Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client's electronic health record and complete monthly treatment reports.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records on each client and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions based on client treatment plan goals and level of care.
  • Responsible for maintaining contact with referral sources and other agencies involved in client care.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Coordinate with agency and community resources to ensure a thorough treatment plan.
  • Assist clients with developing a discharge/continuing care plan and connecting to resources needed to reach personal goals.
  • Follow up with clients after discharge based on regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree or higher in chemical dependency or a related field.
  • 2-4 years' experience in behavioral healthcare, specifically addictions or a related field.
  • Must have minimum of Alcohol and Drug Trainee Status or one of the following certification by the State of Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a: alcohol & drug trainee, Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD), or Certified Supervised Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD).
  • A minimum of one year of work experience in providing substance and/or clinical services.
  • Experience in conducting needs and risk assessments and an understanding of crisis management.
