Job Title: Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at GEO Reentry Services, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing education, support, and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and score standardized substance abuse screening and assessment instruments for participants entering the department of corrections.
  • Determine the level of care based on the assessment, consistent with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Level of Care.
  • Provide various levels of substance abuse treatment, including individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Develop and maintain individual treatment plans for participants.
  • Conduct screenings and assessments during the intake process and back-end screenings for standing populations.
  • Prepare written reports based on the results of assessment and testing tools.
  • Participate in staffing regarding participants with other team members.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Health and Human Services counseling field and an Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) designation, or a Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field with Certified Associate Counselor - Drug & Alcohol (CAC-AD) certification.
  • Certified as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
