Quality Assurance at Pull Systems

We are developing a state-of-the-art web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) tool and API tailored for our EV manufacturing clientele. Our software engineering team is compact, agile, and high-performing, comprising a select group of full-time engineers based on the West Coast, supplemented by international contractors. Our enterprise clients in the automotive manufacturing sector expect nothing less than perfection, which is reflected in our collective commitment to quality. Every member of our organization plays a vital role in achieving our quality objectives.

We believe that exceptional product quality is the result of meticulously applying a variety of processes, including:

Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary leader to coordinate these quality assurance initiatives across the organization. The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Lead encompass:

  1. Formulating, managing, documenting, and enhancing the QA strategy and processes.
  2. Recruiting and overseeing both local and international QA engineers to expand the team.
  3. Creating, maintaining, refining, and executing manual test cases for regression and feature acceptance testing.
  4. Representing QA in cross-functional software project teams, providing guidance on integrating QA practices into the feature specification and development lifecycle.
  5. Overseeing automation for regression testing through a combination of hands-on coding and leadership of engineering teams.
  6. Managing and communicating software release schedules to customers.
  7. Assessing and prioritizing incoming bug reports and feedback from internal users and clients.
  8. Reporting on the overall state of product quality to the executive team.
  9. Recruiting like-minded professionals through technical evaluations and interviews.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  1. A minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance for software development.
  2. Up-to-date knowledge of contemporary QA tools, technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.
  3. Experience in hiring and managing QA professionals.
  4. Proven expertise in developing comprehensive test strategies and executing them in a leadership context.
  5. Experience in building, deploying, and managing test automation at scale.
  6. Practical experience with SQL databases.
  7. Strong engineering skills and a track record of managing complex technical processes.
  8. Demonstrated technical writing skills.
  9. The ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will also possess any of the following:

  1. Professional software development experience.
  2. Hands-on experience with CI/CD or DevOps practices.
  3. Direct experience in Data Science or Statistics in a significant professional or academic setting.
  4. A keen attention to detail that ranks among the top 10% of peers.
  5. Professional experience within the mobility sector.
  6. A passion for building innovative solutions from the ground up with small teams.
