Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Assistant to join our team at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. As a Medical Support Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing administrative support to our healthcare team, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to our healthcare team, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Patient Registration: Register patients for medical services, including collecting demographic information, verifying insurance coverage, and updating patient records.
  • Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including scanning and filing documents, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner, using sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 6 months of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, with a focus on administrative support and patient registration.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; other certifications, such as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, with a regular schedule of 40 hours per week. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and administrative support.
