Psychologist I Part Time Opportunity at Austin State Hospital

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychologist I to join our team at the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). As a Psychologist I, you will be responsible for providing psychological evaluations, individual, group, and family therapies to patients who require and can benefit from these services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide input into the psychological factors and recovery needs of patients to recovery teams as assigned.
- Provide staff training in the development of psychoeducational groups and classes on the recovery unit.
- Serve on committees throughout the facility as needed.
- Provide backup for the supervising Psychologist as needed.
- Supervise the work of others as assigned.
- Must be licensed as a psychologist by the State of Texas or a reciprocity state.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in psychology.
- Successful completion of a pre-doctoral internship in clinical or counseling psychology.
- Experience in psychological work.
- Documented training and supervised experience in group, individual, and behavioral therapies, psychological assessment, and psychological testing.
- Knowledge of and skills in interviewing techniques with individuals and families, and knowledge of current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) diagnostic criteria.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
