Supported Independent Living Counselor

COMHAR INC is seeking a qualified Supported Independent Living Counselor to join our team. As a Supported Independent Living Counselor, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals with serious mental illness, a history of chronic homelessness, and substance use disorder.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver quality and consistent individual and group activities, including counseling sessions, skill teaching, and house meetings.
- Provide assistance and support as needed with activities of daily living, such as medication management, social/leisure skills, budgeting, benefits/entitlements, health care, and community participation.
- Assist individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues, helping them address symptoms and develop coping skills.
- Support individuals in seeking educational and vocational resources, such as G.E.D. classes, college education, volunteer activities, and employment supports.
- Maintain involvement in the development and review of treatment plans and progress reviews in collaboration with team members.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, policies, and procedures, including confidentiality, client rights, and health and safety.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in human services, plus 1 year mental health experience.
- OR High school diploma or G.E.D. plus 3 years related mental health experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- COVID Vaccination.
