Job Summary:

Trinity Health is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist II to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist II, you will provide clinical Speech Pathology services to adults and pediatric caseloads at various levels of care. Your expertise will be utilized to devise treatment plans and intervention strategies, provide therapy services, and ensure patient education and discharge planning. Additionally, you will perform operational duties, conduct continuing education activities, and maintain professional skills and knowledge. If you are a dedicated and compassionate professional with a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology and Iowa state licensure, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Provides diagnostic assessments of communication disorders, including disorders of speech, language, fluency, voice, cognition/memory, and swallowing.

• Develops and implements treatment plans and intervention strategies based on evaluation results.

• Provides therapy services for remediation of communication disorders and/or dysphagia.

• Ensures patient and/or family education regarding communication disorders and/or dysphagia.

• Recommends and follows through with discharge planning regarding communication disorders and/or dysphagia.

• Performs operational duties, including patient scheduling, completion of patient notes and reports, maintenance of patient files, completion of patient charges, recording of hours worked and mileage records.

• Conducts continuing education/inservice activities for departmental staff, hospital personnel, contract agencies, and community groups as requested.

• Demonstrates positive and professional interactions with patients, visitors, families, staff members, and medical staff.

• Assumes personal responsibility for maintaining and developing professional skills and knowledge as it relates to assigned job responsibilities.

• Assumes personal responsibility for knowing Skiff Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures that are applicable to the job of Staff Speech Pathologist, and abides by all Skiff Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures.

• Performs other duties and functions as assigned.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution.

• Iowa state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
