Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

At Alliance Healthcare, we are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive care to our residents, focusing on communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders in our residents.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each resident.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
  • Educate residents and their families about communication and swallowing disorders, treatment options, and safe swallowing practices.
  • Document resident progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current New Jersey State license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with geriatric patients, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge of conditions associated with aging and their impact on communication and swallowing.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
