Job Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and testing prototypes, preparing equipment, and supporting the operation of Orbital's technology at oil and gas wellsites throughout the US.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prototype Development and Testing: Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and execute lab-based qualification testing, design and build fixtures and test equipment to support the testing of Orbital's products.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to coworkers and clients on the wellsite, working with the engineering team to assemble and test current generation and next generation equipment.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Plan and execute safe, timely, and cost-effective prototype equipment test runs, instrumentation, data acquisition, and data analysis to generate test reports.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot electronics, instrumentation, and controls, as well as mechanical assemblies and systems.
  • Documentation: Prepare technical reports, including service reports and data analysis, and complete documentation of repair/testing/assembly activities.
  • Failure Analysis: Conduct failure analyses and root cause identification, assist in developing process and design mitigations, and swiftly implement corrective actions and resolve system issues.
  • Administrative Tasks: Diligently complete timesheets, site visit reports, and all other documentation in a timely manner and in line with Orbital's internal procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience working with electro-mechanical products, experience working with industrial control systems and pumping systems, and experience in building and maintaining mechanical systems.
  • Skills: Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, ability to work outdoors at remote wellsites in all weather conditions, effective communication skills, and ability to establish good customer rapport.
  • Education: Associates Degree in Electronics, Mechanics, or Engineering (advanced relevant experience in electro-mechanical product manufacturing and testing may be substituted for Degree Qualifications).
