OBJECTIVE:


The role of the Adjunct Instructor is to facilitate engaging learning experiences that align with the course objectives and enhance the educational atmosphere of the institution and its surrounding community.

The primary duties include designing, developing, and delivering instructional content that promotes effective student learning.

Part-time instructors are engaged on a temporary basis, based on the requirements of the institution and its corporate partners.

In collaboration with our corporate partners, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring successful educational outcomes for their workforce in acquiring new skills in mechanical, electrical, and fluid power disciplines as outlined below.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct training in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical, Electrical, or Fluid Power (Hydraulics and Pneumatics) utilizing relevant materials to support training goals
Assess course content and objectives
Facilitate training sessions and provide constructive feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives
Foster professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
Collaborate with the Corporate College to enhance instructional quality by integrating innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods
Assess student performance through various means to gauge their progress in meeting course objectives and provide timely feedback
Responsible for other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to collaborate with Corporate College staff and plant personnel to accommodate diverse training schedules and feedback
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; demonstrated problem-solving capabilities
Ability to communicate effectively with less technical audiences
Proven instructional skills
Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
Capability to manage complex projects with a high degree of judgment, tact, and discretion
Proficient in a Windows environment with basic skills in common office software (word processing, spreadsheets)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position is primarily sedentary. The employee typically sits comfortably to perform tasks.

However, there may be occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small components; or driving a vehicle.

No special physical demands are necessary to perform the work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is conducted in a climate-controlled office or laboratory setting with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Internal and external communications as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
Travel to various locations for classes and labs may be necessary
Hours will vary based on class schedules
Instructors are expected to meet with students at all scheduled times and be accessible outside of class hours

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or higher and a minimum of 3 years of verified, paid work experience in the industry as an electrical/electronics and/or mechanical maintenance and/or fluid systems specialist
Work experience and significant hands-on and classroom training experience in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical systems (e.g., manufacturing, assembly, maintenance)
Industrial electrical/electronic systems (e.g., automation, programmable logic controllers, motor controls)
Technical mathematics
Blueprint and/or schematic interpretation
Precision measurement
Occupational and equipment safety

Experience in tailoring training techniques to accommodate students from both technical and non-technical backgrounds

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field
