Position Overview

OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE:

The role of the part-time instructor is to deliver educational activities and support that facilitate the achievement of course objectives, enhancing the educational experience for both the college and the community. Key responsibilities include planning, developing, and instructing courses within the curriculum to promote effective student learning.

Part-time instructors are engaged on a contingent basis, dependent on the needs of the college and its corporate partners. Collaborating with our clients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring successful educational outcomes for their employees in acquiring new mechanical, electrical, or fluid power skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct training in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical, Electrical, or Fluid Power (Hydraulics and Pneumatics), utilizing relevant materials to support training goals.
  2. Review course content and objectives to ensure alignment with educational standards.
  3. Facilitate training sessions and provide constructive feedback to assess the effectiveness of training initiatives.
  4. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader community.
  5. Collaborate with Corporate College to enhance instructional quality through innovative methodologies and techniques.
  6. Assess student performance through various means to track progress towards course objectives and provide timely feedback.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or higher, with a minimum of three years of verified, paid experience in the industry as a specialist in electrical/electronics, mechanical maintenance, or fluid systems.
  • Significant hands-on and classroom training experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Mechanical systems (e.g., manufacturing, assembly, maintenance)
    • Industrial electrical/electronic systems (e.g., automation, programmable logic controllers, motor controls)
    • Technical mathematics
    • Blueprint and schematic interpretation
    • Precision measurement
    • Occupational and equipment safety
  • Experience in adapting instructional techniques to accommodate students with varying technical backgrounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field.
Compensation

$51.75 per contact hour.
