Job Summary
The Executive Culinary Director at Life Time is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the culinary team, ensuring the highest quality of food and exceptional customer experience. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to maintain cost control and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, including maintaining cleanliness, ordering food and supplies, and evaluating prep lists and par levels.
- Manage inventory control and ensure that food costs are in line with budget.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and develop cooks and dishwashers to ensure continuous growth and improvement.
- Provide feedback and coaching to team members to ensure they are meeting expectations.
- Menu Development and Cost Control
- Work with the culinary team to develop and implement new menu items and promotions.
- Ensure that menu items are priced correctly and that food costs are controlled.
- Customer Experience
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
- Monitor customer feedback and make adjustments to menu and service as needed.
Requirements
- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a senior culinary role.
- Certifications
- ServSafe Food Manager Certification or equivalent.
- ServSafe Alcohol Safety or equivalent (if applicable).
- ServSafe Allergen Certification or equivalent (if applicable).
- Skills
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Ability to maintain cost control and inventory management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Requirements
- Culinary Education
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent.
- Leadership Experience
- Previous experience as a leader in a kitchen team, including ordering, inventory, cost control, and menu development.
