Job Description:

Custom Property Philadelphia (CPPHI) Senior Underwriter

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee risk selection and rejection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability in alignment with objectives for both new business and renewals.
  • Evaluate coverage and limit requests, determining appropriate terms and pricing in accordance with company standards.
  • Utilize independent judgment and initiative to further business objectives.
  • Uphold underwriting discipline by adhering to a bottom-line underwriting philosophy.
  • Operate within designated authority and seek necessary approvals.
  • Thoroughly document files, reflecting a comprehensive underwriting thought process.
  • Verify claims data from previous years.
  • Assess risk quality and compliance with company guidelines, initiating suitable loss prevention measures.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with clients to attract and retain profitable accounts.
  • Facilitate reinsurance placements according to corporate guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Property Underwriting.
  • Proven experience working with wholesale brokers.
  • Exceptional technical and marketing skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with the market and regulatory landscape.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills are required.
  • A college degree or equivalent is preferred; ARM and CPCU designations are advantageous.

Position Location:
This position is available for remote work within the Mid Atlantic Region.
