Job Summary
MARTA is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Transit Police Officer to join our team. As a Transit Police Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our passengers and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patrol activities and related tasks, including vehicle and foot patrols, traffic control, security checks, crowd control, and assisting persons in distress.
- Carry out apprehension and arrest procedures, issue warnings and citations, investigate accidents, complaints, and incidents, preserve crime scenes, and gather evidence.
- Operate communications equipment and police vehicles, follow procedures regarding the use of firearms and the use of force, and maintain equipment in excellent working order.
- Prepare and submit accurate police reports, successfully complete all training requirements, and conform to the Police Services Dress Code.
- Communicate with and aid the public, answer questions, respond to complaints or problems in a tactful and diplomatic manner, and strive to meet MARTA Police Services goals to provide a customer-oriented, safe, and secure system.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be a United States Citizen
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
