Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications, perform injections, and read PPD results under the direction of registered nurses and doctors.
  • Conduct electrocardiograms (EKG) and screening tests, obtaining and testing specimens as needed.
  • Prepare specimens for transport and document results, taking appropriate action with unexpected results.
  • Assist providers with surgical procedures, including positioning patients, maintaining a sterile field, and wound cleaning and dressing.
  • Prepare paperwork to complete patient visits and obtain and document patient vital signs as needed.
  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and check equipment to ensure proper working order.
  • Maintain medication storage closets and participate in orienting new team members.
  • Perform duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of PA is required.
  • BLS/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association is required.
  • H.S. Diploma/GED is required.
  • Completion of a Practice Nursing School program is required.
  • 1+ years' experience as an LPN in an outpatient setting is preferred.
