Clinical Care Coordinator for Infectious Complications of Injection Opioid Use

As a clinical care coordinator for infectious complications of injection opioid use, you will play a critical role in a multisite NIH-funded clinical trial. You will work closely with medical providers, clinic staff, peer recovery coaches, and community contacts to provide intensive patient navigation for individuals admitted to the hospital for infectious complications of injection opioid use. You will also coordinate regularly with the lead study site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Emotional Support and Psychosocial Counseling: Offer emotional support and psychosocial counseling to patients to help them cope with their condition and improve their overall well-being.
  • Assist in Multi-Disciplinary Approach: Work collaboratively with medical providers and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Identify Discharge Needs and Arrange Services: Identify the discharge needs of patients and arrange for comprehensive services to be provided after they are discharged from the hospital.
  • Perform Related Responsibilities: Perform other related responsibilities as required to ensure the smooth operation of the clinical trial.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Related Field: Hold a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, such as psychology.
  • Two Years of Social Work Experience: Have at least two years of experience in social work or social services.
  • Licensure: May require licensure as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) or licensed social worker.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Social Work Degree: Hold a master's degree in social work.
  • GA State LCSW Certification: Hold current certification as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia.
  • Clinical Research Experience: Have experience working in clinical research, preferably with proficiency in REDCap and MS Office Suite.
  • Certifications: Hold certifications such as CITI HSP and GCP.
  • Experience Working with Individuals with Substance Use Disorders: Have experience working with individuals who use drugs.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
