Role Purpose:

The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee, manage, and coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities for the hotel, in addition to supervising the operations of the storeroom. Maintaining a clean and organized loading dock is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Log and deliver interdepartmental correspondence, manage shipping and receiving of mail for the hotel and its guests, and ensure adequate supply levels of shipping materials. Communicate with various departments regarding incoming packages and follow up on outgoing shipments. Assist with cage runs as needed and manage aging packages and returns.
  • Process and create shipping labels for outgoing packages. Handle billing through the Accounting department for shipments sent via hotel accounts or third-party billing.
  • Maintain and organize the loading dock area, ensuring cleanliness and providing forklift assistance to vendors.
  • Supervise daily storeroom operations, ensuring proper storage and rotation of stock to maintain product freshness and minimize waste. Oversee the distribution of products to food and beverage outlets, verifying quantities and quality. Ensure adherence to requisition policies and assist with order placements as necessary.
  • Assist with month-end inventory processes, verifying items being invoiced and making necessary adjustments.

Additional Responsibilities:

In addition to the essential functions, this role may require performing a combination of supportive tasks, with the time allocated to each determined by the supervisor based on hotel needs.

  • Perform duties related to storeroom receiving, including filling requisitions, stock rotation, and assisting with month-end inventories.
  • Conduct general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to comply with health standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings as required.

Other Considerations:

Regular attendance in accordance with Hilton's established standards is crucial for success in this role. Employees with inconsistent attendance may face disciplinary actions, including potential termination.

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work flexible schedules to meet the hotel's operational needs.
