Lab Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Supervisor to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy in test results, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

• Oversee the activities of the laboratory, including distributing and assigning work, determining priorities, and scheduling non-routine procedures.
• Perform supervisory functions for assigned staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and providing staff development through performance evaluation and corrective counseling.
• Perform advanced and specialized tests and other related laboratory techniques, including duplicating work of others to confirm test results.
• Check and approve all specialized and problem reports for accuracy.
• Initiate quality-control measures and monitor the quality of work for adherence to laboratory standards.
• Perform duties of technologist as necessitated by absence or peak workload.
• Complete special projects as requested, including surveys, statistical reports, studies, and research.
• Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition.
• Complete training and competency checklists as appropriate.
• Adhere to all established CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety requirements.

• Four to six years of full-time experience as a medical technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Manual dexterity to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses.

• ASCP certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Laboratory Information Systems.
