Role Summary:
Join our enthusiastic and fast-paced production team, where skilled technicians specialize in both short and medium production runs, as well as prototyping various industrial and cleanroom garments. Our focus is primarily on lighter weight fabrics, utilizing a diverse range of equipment including single needle sewing machines, sergers, flatfellers, bar tacks, walking-foot machines, and snap setters. We operate in a bilingual environment, accommodating both English and Spanish speakers.
As a Sewing Machine Operator, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing sewing machines by changing needles and threads, and securing necessary attachments.
- Maintaining product quality through thorough inspection of finished items.
- Ensuring optimal equipment operation by performing preventive maintenance, adhering to manufacturer guidelines, troubleshooting issues, and notifying supervisors of any service requirements.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be responsible, collaborative, and focused in a production setting. You will adhere to safety protocols and ensure that your workstation remains safe at all times.
Effective communication with your production team is essential, as you will be encouraged to share questions, ideas, and suggestions for improvement in a professional manner.
Strong time management and organizational skills are crucial for accurately fulfilling customer orders in a timely manner. Your work will be characterized by accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
Essential Qualifications:
- No high school diploma is required.
- Experience in a production or sewing environment is necessary.
- Previous experience as an industrial sewer or in a production setting is advantageous.
- This is a full-time position, with a Monday to Friday schedule, and occasional overtime may be required.
- Self-motivation and the ability to thrive in a production environment are essential.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills are required.
