Job Description

Sonstegard Foods Company, a leading food processing company, is seeking a skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team.

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our egg products, which are distributed to various markets worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Quality Checks: Perform routine and ad-hoc analyses of materials at different stages of production to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Visual Inspections: Conduct visual inspections of finished goods and production equipment to identify any defects or issues.
  • Maintenance and Calibration: Ensure that machinery and facilities meet cleanliness standards before production runs and comply with regulatory guidelines.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Complete necessary documentation for testing, calibration, and other quality control processes, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish a positive working relationship with regulatory bodies, such as the USDA, and engage in effective communication with supervisors and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Production Knowledge: Knowledge of production processes and raw materials.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and understanding of maintenance support functions.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Adherence to Protocols: Adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP's), safety protocols, and quality standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent Bending and Lifting: Frequent bending, kneeling, crawling, and stooping, and ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to climb stairs and ladders, and experience working with moving conveyor belts.

Work Environment:

Exposure to loud machinery and potential use of hearing protection during work.
