Role Summary

The ideal candidate will leverage comprehensive structural engineering expertise to conduct reviews, designs, and renovations in partnership with fellow team members. This role is integral to our project design team and involves coordinating structural analysis and design for both new and renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate effective structural engineering consulting services, encompassing investigation, analysis, design, and management during the construction phase, along with special inspection services.
  • Assist in the structural engineering evaluation and design of both new and existing structures, utilizing 2D/3D structural design modeling software, and collaborating with team members to produce structural design documents and technical specifications for construction.
  • Support the assessment and analysis of existing structures, including long-term repair forecasts and the preparation of engineering summary reports for project managers to present to clients.
  • Provide technical guidance and detailing oversight to CAD/REVIT technicians involved in the project.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other engineers and technicians assigned to projects as necessary.
  • Engage with the engineering and local communities, participating in professional and community organizations in alignment with BCG's values and to foster business development.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field with a structural engineering focus from an accredited program.
  • Successful completion of the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • 0-4 years of experience as a civil/structural engineer, with design experience in steel, concrete, masonry, or wood framing systems. Candidates with expertise in building envelope/waterproofing, including field assessments and repair analysis, are preferred.
  • Capability to conduct on-site field observations and physical testing as required.
  • Strong skills in technical writing, detailing, and verbal communication.
  • Adeptness in managing and transitioning between multiple projects.
