Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Cybersecurity Systems Assurance Specialist to enhance our team at TekSynap. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and security of our information systems while adhering to stringent government regulations.

Key Responsibilities
The Cybersecurity Systems Assurance Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Supporting Engineering and Operations in network solutions while ensuring compliance with the Information Assurance (IA) program as mandated by U.S. Government standards.
  • Preparing comprehensive Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation and procedures.
  • Collaborating with various security disciplines, including industrial and physical security, to ensure a cohesive security posture.
  • Acting as a primary advisor to government representatives and program leads on all security-related matters concerning Information Systems.
  • Maintaining compliance with the DIA Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ensuring adherence to the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA).
  • Overseeing the daily security operations of systems, ensuring they are managed and disposed of in accordance with established security policies.
  • Developing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) for identified vulnerabilities and ensuring timely compliance updates.
  • Conducting regular reviews of systems in line with the Monitoring Strategy and updating security documentation as necessary.
  • Coordinating system changes based on security notifications and baseline adjustments.

Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • An active Top-Secret Clearance with a CI Poly.
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in information assurance, particularly in ICD 503 certification and accreditation.
  • Compliance with DoD 8140 and other necessary certifications for the role.
  • Technical and security training in accordance with DoD instructions and NIST guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience in relevant technology areas to effectively fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with NIST Special Publications and demonstrated experience in transitioning applications to the IC Information Technology Environment (ITE).

Work Environment
The work environment is characterized by:
  • A low noise level conducive to focused work.
  • Normal work hours averaging 40 hours per week, with potential for evening and weekend work as needed.
  • Occasional travel requirements.

Physical Demands
Employees must be able to:
  • Regularly use hands for handling and communication.
  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
