Head of Family Reunification Services
Salary: $87,500
Benefits Include:
- Comprehensive Medical Coverage (100% employer paid for employees only), Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short Term and Long Term Disability.
- 5 Days of Paid Time Off (PTO)
- 11 Wellness Days - Including the week of Christmas off

ROLE SUMMARY: The Director of Family Reunification and Support Services is dedicated to delivering exceptional behavioral health solutions and intensive case management through the Homebuilders Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), high fidelity wraparound methodologies, and other recognized EBP frameworks. This role is crucial for assisting children and families identified by child welfare agencies or community organizations as being at risk of entering the child welfare system due to confirmed safety issues, as well as those already involved in the system with a court-ordered goal of reunification.
This individual will supervise the integration of behavioral health and trauma-informed child welfare services provided to families, employing evidence-based practices such as HOMEBUILDERS EBP, nurturing parenting techniques, motivational interviewing, seeking safety approaches, and high-fidelity wraparound services. The Director will oversee programs including HOMEBUILDERS FITT and Baby CAT. The FITT initiative is an intensive in-home program designed for adults engaged with the child welfare system who are mandated to fulfill a case plan addressing co-occurring mental health and substance use issues, with the aim of reuniting with their children or ensuring their safety at home. The Baby CAT program serves children and their caregivers identified by the PCSS or other community agencies as being at risk of abuse or neglect, providing essential prevention and diversion services.
HOMEBUILDERS is a proven program aimed at fortifying families to avert unnecessary out-of-home placements or facilitate the return of children from foster care, group homes, psychiatric facilities, or correctional institutions. Families engaged in this intensive, in-home family therapy model often face imminent placement risks or require intensive services for reunification. Challenges may include child abuse, neglect, family discord, juvenile delinquency, and developmental or mental health issues affecting children or parents.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong commitment to the HOMEBUILDERS model.
- A minimum of a Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience and a minimum of 4 years providing direct services to families, preferably in intensive in-home settings.
- Preferred qualifications include licensed mental health and Certified Addiction Professional status. CWCMS certification is also preferred.
- TCM supervisor and Wraparound coach certifications must be maintained or obtained within one year of hire.
- Must be Medicaid eligible as a supervisor for billing purposes.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for documenting progress notes, treatment plans, and relevant client information.
Directions for Living is committed to providing essential services. All employees must be prepared to deliver vital support and services to those we serve during emergencies, pandemics, or other crisis situations. This position is clinic-based and requires in-office work.
