Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech Lab Technologist to join our team at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Baraboo. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide educational materials as needed.
  • Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams, positioning patients for procedures, and filing, delivering, and retrieving patient reports and charts.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, preventing unnecessary radiation exposure to patients.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor patient activity during procedures and report any abnormal activity, recommending updates or refinements to protocols as warranted.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, maintaining equipment functionality and reporting potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, laboratory work areas, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and other departmental spaces.
  • May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
  • Collect, label, process, and preserve blood, urine, and other specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
  • Enter, access, and execute lab orders in the appropriate laboratory and electronic medical record system.
  • May perform phlebotomy and/or waived testing.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties, including admission activities, insurance verification, order entry processing, and medical record processing.
Requirements
  • Completion of a radiology certification program.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Radiographer, Licensed, certification from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Work Environment

This is a full-time variable shift position with 32 hours per week. The pay range starts at $27.32, with daily pay available. Shift differentials are available for night, weekend, and additional shifts. Relocation assistance is available for those who qualify.
