Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Imaging Specialist to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our Imaging and Diagnostics department, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explaining Procedures: Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure their understanding and provide appropriate educational materials.
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure and verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
  • Radiation Safety: Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patient exposure to unnecessary radiation.
  • Contrast Media Administration: Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Image Quality: Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Department Maintenance: Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a radiology certification program.
  • Experience: No experience required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA), Radiographer, Licensed - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and ARRT-BD Bone Density - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Work Environment

This is a rotating shift position, and you will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
