Radiology Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech Lab Technologist to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department.
Responsibilities- Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide educational materials as needed.
- Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
- Assist technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure to patients.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity, monitoring protocols and recommending updates or refinements as warranted.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history.
- Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, laboratory work areas, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and other areas.
- May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
- Collect, label, process, and preserve blood, urine, and other specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
- Enter, access, and execute lab orders in the appropriate laboratory and electronic medical record system.
- May perform phlebotomy and/or waived testing.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties, including admission activities, insurance verification, order entry processing, and medical record processing.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Completion of a radiology certification program.
- No experience required.
