Job Description

VisionsHR is seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to join our Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials and supplies to ensure seamless production and delivery of our products.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine supply needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on delivery speed, price, and quality, negotiating contracts as needed.
  • Conduct site visits to suppliers to assess their capabilities and ensure compliance with our standards.
  • Attend industry conferences and trade shows to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies.
  • Analyze financial reports and pricing proposals to ensure we are getting the best value for our money.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring clear terms and conditions.
  • Meet with vendors and staff to discuss any issues with products or services.
  • Responsible for the DMR process from a purchasing perspective.
  • Evaluate and monitor contracts to ensure suppliers are complying with terms and conditions.
  • Maintain and review records of inventories, product performance, deliveries, costs, and items purchased.
  • Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures.
  • Serve as a mentor to the Purchasing and Stock department to help them grow.
  • Familiar with barcode and cycle count inventory process.
Requirements:
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating and choosing suppliers.
  • Decision-making skills for making timely and informed decisions on selecting products.
  • Math skills for comparing prices from various suppliers.
  • Interpersonal skills, self-confidence, and negotiating skills for establishing contracts with suppliers.
  • Five years or more experience in Management Inventory/Purchasing industry/Supply Chain.
  • Ability to form relationships outside of Operation team – particularly with the Engineering Department and Production floor.
  • Positive, organized leader able to collaborate and influence others.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Interest in the Lighting Industry.
  • Experience with EPICOR Software and Cycle count Processes.
