Diesel Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Equipment Specialist to join our team at Greater Portland Metro. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing highly skilled repairs and maintenance on diesel-driven automotive equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Maine State Inspection of all METRO vehicles.
- Diagnose trouble, disassemble engines, electrical and fuel systems, etc., and examine parts for defects and excessive wear.
- Perform tests, repairs, tune-ups, brake jobs, and other preventative maintenance.
- Recondition and replace parts, such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings, using engine lathes, boring machines, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- CDL-B w/ Air Brakes & Passenger Endorsement within 6 months of employment (Metro offers paid training)
- Maine State Inspection License within 6 months of employment
- Knowledge of parts and processes of using tools book to look up parts
- Computer Skills
- Able to read, write, and speak the English Language effectively
- ASE certifications preferred
Benefits:
- $31.80 - $38.96 per hour salary
