About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to join our team at Caliber Public Schools. As an ELA Teacher, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the school's mission to achieve educational equity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Leadership: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and national standards, ensuring students master academic standards and achieve academic excellence.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and academic achievement.
  • Assessment and Data Analysis: Use data to drive instruction, regularly assessing student learning to inform instruction and ensure each student's personalized learning plan addresses their unique needs and goals for growth.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, communicating effectively and respectfully to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in ELA instruction, technology integration, and social-emotional learning.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree and valid California State Teaching Credential or equivalent transferable teaching license from another state.
  • Experience: 2 or more years of teaching experience, preferably in a high-performing school driving excellent student outcomes.
  • Skills and Qualities: Strong instructional leadership, classroom management, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and build strong relationships with students and families.
