Job Summary:

Houston Methodist is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Environmental Services Representative to join our team. As an Environmental Services Representative, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of general cleaning tasks in assigned areas to provide a clean and attractive environment.
  • Follow established policies and procedures to maintain environmental and infection control standards.
  • Interact with patients, family, and staff in a positive and professional manner.
  • Participate in meetings and huddles to promote a positive work environment and contribute to a dynamic, team-focused work unit.
  • Respond promptly and positively to requests for assistance and information.
  • Perform efficient room cleaning processes to ensure timely patient admissions.
  • Follow department processes for room cleaning and discharge inspections to meet or exceed HCAHPS cleanliness scores.
  • Track, log, and notify management of safety and repair needs for equipment.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety rules to observe standard infection control precautions and comply with OSHA standards.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job.
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
