Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a service-oriented mindset, demonstrating friendliness and courtesy towards residents, patients, visitors, and team members.

  • Ensure the safety of residents, patients, visitors, and colleagues by identifying and reporting safety hazards.
  • Maintain a reliable attendance record.
  • Accurately document assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on Speech Therapy practices to promote understanding and effective care.
  • Apply sound clinical judgment in all aspects of resident treatment.
  • Guide and mentor Clinical Fellows and Speech Therapy students in their work activities.
  • Oversee documentation prepared by Clinical Fellows in compliance with state regulations.
  • Assess residents to determine their eligibility for Speech Therapy interventions.
  • Develop and implement Speech Therapy programs tailored to resident needs.
  • Participate in ongoing training and meetings as required.
  • Engage in continuing education to meet state licensure requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state.
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology with Clinical Certificate of Competency or currently in Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in rehabilitation settings catering to mature populations.
  • Knowledge of PDPM treatment and reimbursement policies.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • A genuine commitment to the care of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
  • Adherence to the Resident Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities.
  • Compliance with organizational safety policies and procedures.
