Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit a service-oriented mindset, demonstrating friendliness and courtesy towards residents, patients, visitors, and team members.
- Proactively address challenges and take initiative to enhance the care environment.
- Ensure the safety of residents, patients, visitors, and colleagues by identifying and reporting safety hazards.
- Maintain a reliable attendance record.
- Accurately document assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with departmental policies.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on Speech Therapy practices to promote understanding and effective care.
- Apply sound clinical judgment in all aspects of resident treatment.
- Guide and mentor Clinical Fellows and Speech Therapy students in their work activities.
- Oversee documentation prepared by Clinical Fellows in compliance with state regulations.
- Assess residents to determine their eligibility for Speech Therapy interventions.
- Develop and implement Speech Therapy programs tailored to resident needs.
- Participate in ongoing training and meetings as required.
- Engage in continuing education to meet state licensure requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state.
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology with Clinical Certificate of Competency or currently in Clinical Fellowship Year.
- Familiarity with industry regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in rehabilitation settings catering to mature populations.
- Knowledge of PDPM treatment and reimbursement policies.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- A genuine commitment to the care of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
- Adherence to the Resident Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities.
- Compliance with organizational safety policies and procedures.
