Job Summary

The Business Development Coordinator is a key member of the Phoenix Defense team, responsible for supporting leadership in Business Development, Capture, and Proposal Development/Submission. This role involves direct assistance and support to the Corporate Growth Leaders in activities related to pipeline development, market and opportunity analysis, documentation and presentation, and contact engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pipeline management (new and existing business)
  • Aid in identifying and tracking opportunities by maintaining opportunity roadmaps, and engaging in contact follow-ups, opportunity analysis, and business-to-business relationships
  • Research, planning, and documentation support
  • Perform market research to identify potential clients and industry trends
  • Manage and update market research databases ensuring accuracy of current and future opportunities
  • Assist in creation and implementation of Business Development strategies
  • Prepare and analyze reports on opportunities including metrics, performance criteria, track competitor's activities in the market and manage pipeline inputs/outputs
  • Support BD inputs to annual operational planning (AOP) forecast
  • Tertiary responsibilities include integration of all customer relationship management (CRM) tools into the Corporate Business Development processes and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, industry experience in lieu of a degree required
  • Five to seven years of aerospace and defense industry experience desired, three to five years of aerospace and defense industry experience is required
  • Familiarity with military training and simulation desired
  • Experience with Department of Defense proposals as well as Federal Acquisition Regulation understanding
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Procurement Process,,, or preferred
  • Understanding of capture management best practices, excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communications skills, interpersonal, problem-solving, and business acumen
  • Must possess ability to administer several projects independently and concurrently, with ongoing changes in priority
  • Must possess ability to think independently and work effectively in a high-volume environment
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products
