Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute advanced mechanical tasks using independent judgment and applying established procedures to various work scenarios.
  • Conduct comprehensive servicing and repairs on diverse equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and company protocols.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior mechanics.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using visual assessments and computer diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of time, materials, equipment condition, and repairs conducted.
  • Utilize computer software for tracking information; ensure repair orders and timesheets are complete and precise.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare necessary safety documentation.
  • Adhere to regulations set forth by DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other relevant authorities.
  • Engage in training programs to enhance safety skills and stay updated on hazardous material training requirements.
  • Exhibit regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Essential functions of this role will be carried out at designated company locations.
  • Comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and industry-specific professional standards.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair, with a minimum of four years of relevant experience, or five years of experience in heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair, with equivalent trade school time applicable.
  • Capability to operate company vehicles and equipment daily, with appropriate licensing.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Effective teamwork skills for collaboration with colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with team members, reading orders, and accurately documenting daily logs.
  • Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
  • Experience with mechanical tools, materials, and testing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the design, operation, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols and operating procedures.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel to perform repairs and inspections.
  • Medium-level lifting requirements, with the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Capability to work in various environments, including indoor climate-controlled areas and outdoor settings with potential inclement weather.
  • Exposure to physical hazards, including moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
  • May experience vibrations from oscillating movements.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $58,240 - $70,720 per year, commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
