Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced mechanical tasks using independent judgment to apply procedures and practices to specific work scenarios.
  • Conduct comprehensive servicing and repairs on various equipment types, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and company timelines.
  • Guide and mentor less experienced mechanics.
  • Execute routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues visually or with diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain detailed records of time, materials, equipment condition, and repairs performed.
  • Utilize computer software to track information; ensure repair orders and timesheets are accurate and complete.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare necessary safety documentation.
  • Adhere to regulations set by DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other relevant authorities.
  • Engage in training programs to maintain and enhance safety skills and knowledge, including hazardous material training.
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Essential functions of this role will be conducted at designated company locations.
  • Comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific standards.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair, with four years of relevant experience, or five years of experience in heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair; equivalent trade school time may be considered.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment daily, with proper licensing.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Effective teamwork skills for collaboration with colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with employees, reading orders, and accurate log entries.
  • Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
  • Experience with mechanical tools, materials, and testing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle and equipment design, operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols and operating procedures.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel for repairs and inspections.
  • Medium-level lifting capability, exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including indoor climate-controlled areas and outdoor conditions.
  • Exposure to physical hazards, including moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
  • Potential exposure to vibration from equipment operation.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $58,240 - $70,720 annually, commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
