Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at SSM Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Utilize standards of medical-surgical nursing practice to enhance patient care and quality of life.
  • Establish effective relationships with patients, families, and significant others to facilitate care planning.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, collect assessment data, determine nursing diagnoses, and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Apply knowledge of human responses to actual and potential health problems, considering physical, functional, cultural, social, economic, developmental, spiritual, vocational, and leisure dimensions.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, significant others, communities, and inter-professional teams to assess needs, set goals, plan interventions, provide care, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Educate patients, families, and significant others about measures promoting, maintaining, and restoring health or promoting comfort.
  • Foster a healthy work environment by serving as a mentor and role model for nursing colleagues, students, and others.
  • Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in healthcare to medical-surgical nursing practice, ensuring care is delivered based on patient age-specific needs and clinical needs.
Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds, and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
