Position Summary:

Serigor Inc. is seeking a motivated GIS Technician to contribute to the development, updating, and management of essential datasets within our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) framework. This role focuses on maintaining critical data layers that support various city planning and operational needs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct analysis, design, and development of complex GIS projects.
  • Collaborate with different departments to gather system requirements and troubleshoot operational challenges.
  • Engage in problem-solving related to system design and implementation.
  • Review and recommend approval for functional and technical design documents.
  • Evaluate system modifications for feasibility and alternative solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of new systems and enhancements to existing applications, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Create advanced programs and reports utilizing database query languages.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Computer Science, Planning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with GIS technologies, particularly in data production.
  • Proficiency in Esri GIS tools, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience in generating high-quality data products with comprehensive metadata.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and control processes for data products.
  • Working knowledge of GIS techniques, including map production and geocoding.
  • Experience with SQL database queries and geospatial relationships.
  • Ability to create effective and visually appealing cartographic outputs.
  • Experience managing data and metadata within enterprise and file geodatabases.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience utilizing aerial photography data.
  • Familiarity with planimetric data.
  • Knowledge of Python scripting.
  • Certification as a GIS Professional (GISP) is a plus.
