Assistant/Associate Professor of Microbiology/Immunology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our team as a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Sam Houston State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the delivery of the microbiology and immunology curriculum in foundational and systems-based courses.
- Collaborate with faculty in other departments to provide a highly integrated curriculum.
- Provide instruction using various methods of content delivery, including large and small group discussions, team-based learning, case-based learning, and other interactive approaches.
- Maintain scholarly activities, including application for research grants, dissemination of research findings in peer-reviewed journals, and conference attendance.
- Mentor research projects involving participation from osteopathic medical students.
- Act as a faculty advisor and participate in selection of students.
- Participate in university and college committee services.
- A PhD, DO, MD or equivalent terminal degree in a related field from an accredited university is required.
- At least two years of teaching experience in microbiology and immunology to students in health professional schools (medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, etc.) is required.
- Preference will be given to a candidate who has teaching experience at a medical school and an understanding of integrating osteopathic principles into curriculum development.
