We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor to join our Department of Security Studies at Sam Houston State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in homeland security studies, as well as contributing to the development of our academic programs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in homeland security studies, including topics such as homeland security policy, terrorism, and emergency management.
- Develop and maintain a research agenda in homeland security studies, with a focus on publishing scholarly articles and presenting at conferences.
- Contribute to the development of our academic programs, including curriculum design and assessment.
- Advise and mentor students, including undergraduate and graduate students.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and professional development activities.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a PhD in a relevant field, such as homeland security studies, political science, or public policy. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and research, as well as experience working in higher education.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred qualifications include experience teaching online courses, a strong research agenda, and experience working with diverse student populations.
