As the Security Operations Manager at Cedar Fair, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests and employees while safeguarding company assets and minimizing liability. Reporting directly to the Director of Safety and Security, you will collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive coverage of all areas during operational hours.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director of Safety and Security in overseeing daily operations and delivering exceptional service within the security department, adhering to Cedar Fair standards to ensure the safety of staff, guests, and property.
  • Manage various areas of responsibility, including in-park patrols, access control points, communication dispatch, parking lot security, residential areas, and loss prevention.
  • Oversee the front gate security screening process to ensure a seamless and pleasant experience for guests.
  • Supervise all aspects of security personnel management, including recruitment, training, development, supervision, and scheduling.
  • Implement and manage the park's CCTV and Loss Prevention initiatives while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with local law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate third-party security service contracts.
  • Work closely with the Safety team to ensure timely responses to incidents within the park.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and ensure accurate documentation is completed.
  • Provide recommendations for procedural changes based on investigative findings.
  • Address and resolve security-related complaints from staff and guests.
  • Develop, coordinate, and participate in park emergency action plans, contributing as an active member of the Park's Operating Manager Program.
  • Collaborate with senior management to formulate the security department's budget and review existing security protocols, suggesting necessary adjustments.
  • Respond to emergency situations within the park and direct security staff as needed.
  • Assist in incident command during emergencies.
  • Support the development of the park's emergency management programs and train personnel accordingly.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with surveillance systems, access control, and other security technologies. Understanding of laws related to proprietary security.

Education: Bachelor's degree (4-year college) preferred.

License or Certification: Valid driver's license and permit to carry in the state of MO.

Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in Safety and Security or related fields.

Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
