Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian is a key member of our Nutrition Department, responsible for delivering high-quality nutrition care to patients. As a registered dietitian, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nutritional processes for individual patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nutrition screening, assessments, and follow-up for patients within applicable policy, including nutrition diagnosis and care planning.
  • Collaborate with Nutrition Dietetic Technician Registered (NDTR) for indicated patient nutrition care.
  • Coordinate nutrition counseling, education, and community referrals (if indicated).
  • Work with department leadership to support oversight of patient meal services, diet orders, and patient menus.
  • Support patient satisfaction initiatives organizationally and department-based.
  • Uphold principles and use AIDET tools with each patient interaction.
  • Provide support to dietetic interns when assigned in collaboration with Clinical Nutrition Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate the ability to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological, chemical, and physical sciences in applying the nutrition process.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
  • Completion of Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)-approved or accredited internship with emphasis on clinical nutrition.
  • Currently Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • California Children Services (CCS) paneled Clinical Registered Dietitian preferred.
  • At least one-year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or completion of CDR-accredited internship with emphasis on clinical nutrition.
