Senior Manager

EchoStar Corporation, a leading global provider of satellite communication solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join its Hughes Network Systems division. Located at the company's headquarters in Germantown, MD, this role will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and implement workplace procedures and policies to ensure continuous and uninterrupted service.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, HAZMAT, and Health, Fire & Life Safety.
- Direct the activities of workers engaged in 24x7 operation and maintenance of facilities.
- Schedule and conduct frequent inspections of facilities, grounds, and equipment to determine the need for service, repair, and equipment replacement.
- Inspect and maintain security fence perimeters, entry gates, and surveillance systems.
- Maintain accurate PMI documentation and work closely with the Security team.
- Ensure the overall maintenance of the site's appearance to meet company standards.
- Manage and maintain grounds for snow removal, removal of weeds, care of lawns, and ornamental plants, and erosion prevention/control.
- Plan and administer department budgets.
- Recommend infrastructure improvements to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness of site operations.
- Purchase building and maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, and furniture.
- Direct, monitor, and control contracted projects to ensure adherence to specifications and deadlines.
- May prepare construction specifications or plans, obtain advice from engineering personnel, assemble and analyze contract bids, and submit bids and recommendations to management.
- Manage outside vendor contracts, including janitorial and special cleaning requirements, annual maintenance agreements, fueling, painting, general contracts for pest/insect control.
- Represent the site at internal and external meetings and communicate information to management.
- Provide project reports and significant operational data to management on a timely basis.
- Manage multiple locations at the Corporate Campus. Hire, train, and supervise department personnel.
- Compile and review records of labor and material costs for operating buildings and specifications or plans.
- Approve invoices for payment.
- Complete purchase orders.
- 10% travel.
- Bachelor's degree or combination of education and work experience.
- 15 years' experience in building maintenance of HVAC, Electrical, Fire Suppression, and detection systems, Generators, UPS's, as well as general maintenance and construction.
- 10 years' experience managing a large-scale diverse office, data center, lab, and manufacturing facility.
- Must hold Master Electrical or Master HVAC/R license.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to interact effectively with team members and provide guidance as needed.
- Basic computer skills/experience in databases, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to make sound decisions regarding budgets, personnel actions, and priority of work necessary to maintain function of 24x7 operations.
